York Travelodge
June 2017

Tiger Developments has recently completed and opened a brand new Travelodge in York. The scheme consists of 128 hotel rooms with a Costa Coffee situated within the 1.72 acre site.

Funded by Osprey, work on the site commenced in June last year with practical completion achieved on 19th June 2017, ready for the influx of tourists and university visitors needing a place to stay in the beautiful medieval city.

Victoria Hall Management Limited (VHML) is to develop a seven-storey £24 million PBSA in Sheffield city centre, totalling 535 bedrooms. Funded by Blackrock, groundwork remediation at the site on Denby Street has already begun with the project due for completion in June 2018, ready for the 2018-2019 academic year.

This will be Victoria Hall’s first project in Sheffield, adding to their 12 other sites throughout major university cities in the UK. The building will be managed by VHML’s award-winning student operator brand Host.

In December, North Midland Construction Group was awarded the £24 million construction contract, their second for Victoria Hall. National Operations Director for VHML John Ripley, commented, “Sheffield is a fantastic university city and has been on our radar for some time. We are delighted to add such a prestigious development to our ever growing portfolio of sites throughout the UK.”

Next Major Development Phase Starts

tHe Haymarket development, Edinburgh’s prestigious £200 million joint venture commercial scheme by Tiger Developments &' Interserve, has marked a major milestone in construction by ‘breaking ground’ as it progresses onto the next major development phase.

On track for completion of the first office tHe5 building in 2018, the development will comprise 650,000 sq ft of prime office, retail and leisure space including a 190-bed hotel, an apart-hotel and an underground car park. It is considered to be Edinburgh’s best connected office location within minutes of the Haymarket Station and tram stop linking the city to Edinburgh airport within 20 minutes. City of Edinburgh Council welcomes the development as it will not only transform a prime site in the city’s West End, which has been derelict for decades, but also create much needed quality office space.

September 2016

Opening its doors for the first time in September 2016, The Glassworks is a PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation) located in the heart of Leicester City Centre and a literal stone’s throw from De Montfort University’s main campus.

During the design review for The Glassworks, we worked closely with the multiple contractors, consultants and architects to increase the bed space capacity from 387 rooms to 398, spread across three blocks.

The project was delivered on a tight deadline and was successfully handed over at the end of August, ready for students to move in at the beginning of September.

July 2016

We started the 2016 New Year off with 2 new members of staff, Steve Wild joined Victoria Hall Management Limited in January 2016, and has been working in the Property industry for 16 years. At VHML, Steve is responsible for overseeing all Financial matters across both the development and operational businesses that VHML and Tiger operate. We also had Kevin Warr joining the Tiger Developments team taking the role as a Senior Development Manager, leading several projects throughout the year. Previous to this Kevin has over 20 years’ experience across both the public and private sector.

In April 2016 we welcomed Keith Dean to the Development team as a Senior Development Manager after being seconded with us for 14 months. He has over 22 years’ experience in the development, consultancy and contracting project management sectors of the construction industry which includes a wide variety of projects from renovations to multi-million-pound fit-out and new build schemes.

April 2016

Work has commenced on the re-developments of the former WWII site used for Spitfire aircraft manufacture. The site more recently used for a retail & leisure outlet is hard linked to the key Southampton retail frontage & will require demolition and extensive civil engineering works to allow the site to be re-developed.

Tiger Developments will act as the delivery manager for the site which was acquired by its sister company Victoria Hall Management Limited.

Curlew Capital have agreed to forward fund the entire development with Victoria Hall Management Ltd. being appointed as accommodation manager for opening in September 2017.
